i'm not sure of my opinion of the city. once again for our trip, we managed to pick 3 days in a row with nice weather. not too hot or muggy, but i do have the feeling that most other days are yucky.
for some reason there is a combination of two of the following on every block: a 7/11, a starbucks, a dunkin donuts. at first i could not understand why so many dunkin donuts, the others make sense. dunkin donuts have to be some of the worst donuts you can buy. crappy selection, crappy donuts. i think i did figure it out though.. if you order coffee, they ask if you want cream and sugar, if so.. they put it in for you. that's crazy, but they put in 3 times more than a normal person would and that is why it is actually a reasonable cup of coffee. a normal person would never put 5 teaspoons of sugar in a small coffee. though they have no problem drinking a coke with 14 teaspons of sugar in it.
we went to teh techno. all the clubs were on a single street. $15 cover. lame, but Janel got in free. the music was ok, but i will be a techno snob for awhile after last week.
the entire time here i never managed to find a free internet connection. that sucks. actually, finding a place to sit and play on your laptop with a power outlet is difficult. which is weird considering there are like 20 big schools in this city.
i guess i should say some more positive things.. everyone in the city seems really young. there are lots of attractive girls running around in their business casual outfits and that is nice.
i also like how the apartments are set up in some of the areas. the bottom floor is a shop and the upper floors are apartments. these go on for blocks and blocks and form a kinda outside mall.
the subway is cool too.
so lets rate the city.. better than chicago, but that is not too difficult a feat. not as cool as seattle.
sydney
auckland
vancouver
melborne
seattle
vienna
madison
boston
amsterdam
dallas
colorado springs
denver
chicago
dc
i should work on that list. it is a little outta whack.
