Used T-Rex heli for sale

SOLD

I'm selling my Trex. I've already culled my fleet from 3 down to 2. I've decided that having only a single heli is probably best for me. It was a difficult choice between the CP2 and the Trex, but for my level of experience, and considering where I fly, the CP2 won out.

The more difficult choice was to decide if I was going to sell my radio equipment too. I really like my current setup, but I know that having it around would be too much of an enabler. After all.. Having it around is why I ended up with this Trex in the first place!

For sale... My T-Rex 450X HDE with all electronics, radio, battery, and some misc spares. The only thing needed is a lipo charger.

$300 shipped + insurance

  • Trex 450X HDE (gray frame version)
  • 400DH brushless heli motor
  • Castle creations 35 ESC
  • 4 Hitec HS-55 servos
  • Airtronics RD6000 transmitter
  • Century 6 channel RX
  • Walkera WKG006 heading hold gyro
  • Apex 3S 2100 mah 15C lipo battery
  • Misc spares

I bought this heli in crashed form and brought her back into flying shape. I've only done basic hovering around with it so far, but everything appears in good order. Many of the pieces are upgraded from the stock parts. It is using the longer XL boom and belt, has a metal swash, and is using pieces from the 'upgraded' first aid kit.

    Additional non-replacement fixes made..

  • Some of the screw heads in the frame were stripped and had to be drilled out. One of the holes and was filled with JB weld and redrilled. The screws are all reasonable now.
  • Flybar mixer arms grub holes were stripped. The metal inserts were drilled and tapped on the opposite side and the original holes were filled with JB weld.
  • Anything else..

  • The battery has about 10 charges on it and none of the cells have been discharged below 3.7 volts. However, out of all my batteries this pack has the most difficulty staying nicely balanced, even when it was brand new. I'd recommend that balance charging is used for this battery. I've read on the forums that this is typical for the Apex MK3. The battery also has a blemish from rubbing against the motor.
  • The transmitter is not programmed for idle-up modes. I only have hovered it around and had not progressed to that point yet.
  • Tape was added to the frame to prevent the battery from rubbing against the motor.
  • Everyone seems to mount their gyro inverted now and I did the same using two hardwood rods glued to the frame as a gyro mount.
  • Some of the heat shrink is melted on the ESC.
  • I will ship USPS. The heli will be taken apart just enough to safely ship.
  • And finally.. I am not an expert on the T-Rex and I don't personally know anybody that is. I have set this heli up to the best of my ability and everything seems to be working well.

I'll be sad to see her go. :(

A short little video I took today showing that the heli is in flying shape.

A look at heli and radio.

Another look with the canopy off.

Another look with the canopy off.

Everything you'll get. I'll also throw in a bunch of zip ties. The parts on the right are damaged/broke, but I'll include them in the shipment if you wish.

    Another view of everything.

    The transmitter.

    Close-up of the parts.

    That's a nice looking heli!

    Looking good from here too.

If you look closely you can see the melted heat shrink on the ESC. One thing that I did not get around to doing was putting new heat shrink on the bullet connectors. The way they are mounted they physically can not touch and I have a piece of tape on one just for extra protection, but it would be best if the shrink was replaced. Also.. From here you can see the tape used to prevent the battery from sliding back into the motor.

Other side showing my cable routing and the RX.

The head. You can see that several of the pieces are non-stock.

Here you can see the gyro mount and the gyro. It fits nicely there and the adjustments are easy to access. I was surprised at how well the Walkera gyro works. Maybe it's just because I come from a CP2, but it held quite well.

I guess that's it. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions, my email is below..
