i put my heli away for a bit, but got it out the other day. my flybar holder is working well. it vibrates everything a bit, but it's not a problem.
i like to put a landing pad (a container lid) on the floor and practice in-control taking off and landings. i'm getting pretty good at it. unfortunately one of my servo's just died (not even from a crash). very strange. i've never had a servo die from anything other than breaking gears or water damage. these servos are incredibly tiny. i didn't realize until i took it out how small and light it is. 8grams. damn. i think the wire and connector are half the weight too. crazy.
i went ahead and placed an order for a servo (9 whole dollars), some new blades as all mine are chipped to hell, and a new inner shaft (flybar holder).
when i get the parts i am going to tune it up all nifty and get it in tip-top shape. then i am going to go down to the school union and fly it in one of the typically empty ballrooms.
i will then promptly crash and break more parts and come home crying. if all goes well i think i might pop for a micro camera to mount onto it. woo. they are cheaper than you might think. $100 at radioshack, but i've seen them for $40 (camera + transmitter). http://swann.com.au/show_item.php?item=180
