First Trex spoolup

I got everything put together finally. It took awhile to get everything ordered up. Ended up costing about $20 in parts and $15 in shipping since I ordered some of the wrong parts.

This thing is technically a 450x, but it has quite a few 450xl parts on it. The key one that I didn't notice was the extended xl boom. doh.. The 450x belt was just not going to fit without cutting the boom. Since 450xl belts are a lot easier to find I decided to keep the boom, send back my belt and order a new one.

I still need to make a piece to hold on the horizontal fin and help hold the boom, but it is good enough to spool up.

Here's the first spool up with the blades on. I mounted it to the stand I built for my CP2 so that I could adjust the revo mix (throttle to tail mix). It's made from some skateboard bearings and it spins very, very freely.

At the end of the vid I am walking around because my EPA (end point adjustment) for low throttle got nicked since it kept running. Good thing I had it on the stand!

Here I spool up to full throttle. Very scary. haha. The thing was blowing saw dust all over the place. I'm also amazed at the power. The heli weighs like 500 grams and the block weighs like 2+ pounds and I bet it could lift it. All that from a motor that weighs 45grams.

Tomorrow if everything looks good I might just go for a little hover.
