Some maths

Janel just wrote some math on the white board. Turns out, the elite need to pay more than 7.5%

Say the income of the US is $100.
The elite 10% make $71
Everyone else makes $29

63.5/71 = 0.887
36.5/29 = 1.259

Those last two numbers need to be equal to 1 to make the taxation rate the same based upon wealth.

This means that the elite are paying 11.3% too little. To make up for it, everyone else GETS to pay 25.9% too much.

Hmm. 11.3% * a fuckload of money = a bit more than 10% of a fuckload of money
