yesterday i wrote this up, posted, then removed it because two seconds later i realized i was totally full of shit.. tammy actually voted correctly since the net neutrality ammendment was defeated and not added to the bill. i'm going to go ahead and post this anyway, mainly because my argument was completely and totally wrong even though the colors added up so nicely. hopefully i'll take this as a lesson and i won't be so stupid in the future. a good thing is i do know a little better how the govtrack site http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2006-241 works.
-------------------
my rep tammy baldwin failed me. it looks a bit fishy. might of been
bought by our local evil inet company.
why?
other than the net neutrality provision, the bill also had this gem..
"Prohibits a broadband service provider from requiring a subscriber,
as a condition for such service, to purchase any cable,
telecommunications, or VOIP service offered by the provider."
meaning my fucking inet provider can not force me to buy their phone service.
i called her office before the vote.. i called her office after the
vote to ask wtf.
so for the fishyness.. check out this piccy.. the top picture is the
tds coverage map. the bottom is the voting by district. looks like
some serious lobby dollars were paid. time to call my boy russ.. he
won't fall for that shit!
btw.. what's up with nevada not even showing up. lame.
