I was talking with the guy that owns the coffee shop down the street.

He said that he was having problems with people booking shows and not promoting them. Come time for the show, only 2 people would show up.

His partner made a profile on a popular social networking site so that they could put of show listings. It didn't work so well, but I think it is a good idea.

The problem is that any random group is going to have a listing, but you need to target the groups that have been around for awhile. Sending out an invite to any/all is just not going to work.

I guess he could get a spot on tv or radio. Around here it'd probably cost a dollar.
