veronica mars

jay sent me the season 1 dvd's of veronica mars for xmas. i didn't get around to opening it for about a week, but once i did we (turing and i) powered through them quickly during feedings.

the show is excellent. the story is good and evolves well. the characters development is great. the dialog is smart, but not too bullshit smart (read dawson creek is ridiculous). veronica is just freak'n attractive all around (she even dresses well). even when they talk about gaming and computers it is *not vomit inducing.

janel is even watching it now. omg. she hates tv.

i look very much forward to season two when it comes out on dvd.

one thing i took from the show is how great the generic subject matter of 'detective' is for a game. it just gives you a reason to do so many arbitrary things. on first thought the idea of a 'detective show' makes me cringe, but thinking back, i've really liked a lot of detective shows. remington steel, simon and simon, ever frick'n magnum pi. i think my problem is related to the classic detective genre. i guess trenchcoats and stupid hats are not my thing.

*not vomit inducing is the highest mark a tv show has ever attained for me when talking about computers.
