the dangers of software patents stallman talk

stallman is a real big jerk, but this is a good basic talk on the subject. he has lots of good points and has lots of stories. he rambles a bit, but overall it is good.

i don't know where i picked it up, but it wasn't from him.. but i always try to be very specific when i talk about patents.. i try to always say 'software patents'.. and that any other patents i don't have an opinion on, but i consider myself a software expert, so i have an opinion on software patents.. maybe i got it from lessig. dunno.

two things i will steal from him.. the idea that 'intellectual property' and 'protection' are just pro-patent propaganda. damn.. i fucking despise software patents (if you could not guess) and i fell for the propaganda.
