it seems that no matter how much effort you put into making sure you set expectations correctly.. people seem to just not listen. especially when you are trying to push the.. less is more idea.. something that can be very hard to understand for non-engineers i guess.
the boss backed me up today in setting the expectations for something and i totally noticed it. it was blatantly obvious and that was awesome. it also gave me an idea for the future.
you can broadcast expectations, which is good, but you should also make sure a few key people understand the expectations in a real way. once that happens they can continue to set expectations by proxy when you can't be there. which is extremely important when you are in a situation like me and never get face time with people.
