i bought the plans out of popular mechanics or something when i was 13ish. i eventually commandeered the garage and eventually roped my dad into the project. i think he was getting sick of not being able to park the car in the garage. we did end up getting it working in the front yard, but we never took it anywhere to officially drive it. mostly we'd start up the lift engine only because the snowmobile engine + giant prop scared the shit out of me. eventually i stole the lift engine and blade for a smaller one person hovercraft. that pretty much killed the project because after that it didn't make sense to transport it when we moved from utah to california.

somewhere there is a picture of me and my dog casey sitting in it during construction. i'll find it and add it to this post.
